It's Mother's Day ...

And the ship is empty.
No more children to lay on the turf with,
To play Scattergories with,
To laugh over a golden card with,
Or to stare at a half dozen vases with,
Side by side.

My faux tramp stamp is slowly fading,
The grotto is near empty,
And I am overwhelmed with left behind bottles
of sunscreen and bug spray.
So much so that even the thought of another jar of Nutella
is slightly intimidating.
(Now that's scary)

Thank god Sue Fan and I are here together,
listening to Journey,
walking on sunshine,
and reminding each other in our moments of doubt:
"You're Simply the Best."

Missing all of you ...

Sniffle. Sniffle.
