A Day Without Immigrants

As an employee of USC, the largest private employer in Los Angeles, and a native Californian, I felt very strongly that I should head downtown to participate in, or at least witness the "Day Without Immigrants" march/protest that took place on May Day. I took the USC tram straight to the Executive Health Center office on Hope street, and headed down to Broadway, right where I once lived at Broadway and 3rd. The flags, the signs, the smiles, the roars ... close to a million people all marching, peacefully, with something to say. Something important. While I think a majority of the immigrants mistook me as media, I was happy to be there.

Hi Courtney,

I came across your blog and it is a riot. This Jana Fleming whom you went to high school with! Currently, I am living in Thailand. I spent lots of time reading about Xol and the Mexican posse and the Clovis West HS reunion! Glad that Tricia D. told Heather J. what she had coming all these years. Take care and keep on blogging!
